One in eight adults in Singapore has experienced a mental health condition in his lifetime.
In a 2017 study conducted by the National Council of Social Service titled Attitudes Towards Persons with Mental Health Conditions in Singapore, it reported that more than five in 10 people are not willing to live or work with a person with a mental health condition, yet eight in 10 feel that the best therapy for them is to be part of the community.
What is our response as disciples of Christ and as the Church?
This conference seeks to sharpen and deepen a Christian’s understanding of mental wholeness and the role that the Church has to play. It aims to have misconceptions clarified and for Christians to grow as a healing community that Christ set the Church apart to be.
The speakers include Dr Joel M Navarro, a professor of music at the Singapore Bible College, and Pastor Chua Seng Lee of Bethesda (Bedok-Tampines) Church.
