Bob Buford, author of the bestseller, Halftime, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, near his home in Dallas, Texas, after a lengthy illness.

The late Buford was 78. A successful businessman, philanthropist and management coach, Buford co-founded both the Leadership Network and the Halftime Institute in the United States.

He was also the Founder Chairman of Halftime Asia.

In a tribute to Buford, San Wee, Chairman of Halftime Asia, said that Buford “showed us what it means by giving off oneself and investing our lives in others. He helped us understand that the fruit of our life and work essentially grow on other people’s trees.

“Buford helped us understand that the fruit of our life and work essentially grow on other people’s trees.”

“Bob has an insightful and personal way of sharing perspectives that often results in his listener taking proactive actions to effect transformational change in the world around him. I have been so blessed by the many engagements with him. I often go away encouraged by his authenticity and sincerity.

“The manner in which he interacted with others and especially the way he treats (wife) Linda Buford tells so much about the practice of his faith. One can’t go away without sensing the practice of godliness and his deep conviction and commitment to the Lordship of Christ.”

Adding that Halftime Asia is indebted to Buford for his thought-provoking teaching, encouragement and unwavering support over the last 10 years, Wee said, “He has enabled, enlightened and enthused many of us to give our lives joyfully and meaningfully back to the marketplace. He will be dearly missed by all of us in Halftime Asia.”
