30-HOUR FAMINE 2023: UNCHARTERED

One in nine people in the world don’t get enough to eat. Many farmers do not grow enough food to feed themselves, much less sell their produce for income to pay for essentials like education and healthcare.

That is why World Vision partners with communities to address immediate food needs and also to equip them to grow food for the long term. This change happens through initiatives like the 30-Hour Famine.

This year, 30-Hour Famine returns as an in-person day camp. Join the interactive journey through the eyes of children who have found themselves out of school. Help them to navigate the uncharted waters of the uncertain years ahead. Reclaim their right to education and unlock their potential so that they can find their way back to their future.

Your mission:

  • Complete team-based Amazing Race station activities simulating barriers to education in different parts of the world.
  • Walk in the shoes of children who face immense obstacles to education including economic instability, environmental disasters, health crises, conflict and damaging cultural norms. Then help them chart their way back to a brighter future.
  • Discover how children and youths from other countries and backgrounds share many aspirations in common with us in Singapore, including the desire for meaningful and dignified livelihoods, and the ability to provide for their families.

All proceeds will go toward World Vision Singapore’s One Life Fund, which supports children in out-of-home care with special learning needs in Singapore.
