Are you a pre-believer who is seeking God? Or are you a believer who has Science questions about God’s creation? Did Noah’s flood leave any evidence behind?
This seminar will study various science disciplines and compare them with the biblical Genesis account to evaluate whether God used evolution and created in billions of years, or He created in mere six days.
Are we the product of an accident or deliberately designed? Join Dr Mark Harwood as he
At the Calvary Bible Presbyterian Church 10.30am service, Dr Mark Harwood will trace the timeline of the opening chapters of Genesis and their theological significance. As he explores this, he will also show the consistency of the scientific evidence with the historical record of Genesis. Finally, the shortcomings of evolution to explain the world around us and the limitations of science will be explained.
With over 30 years of experience as an engineer and scientist in the Australian telecommunications industry, Dr Mark Harwood played a key role in the development of Australia’s national satellite system from its inception in 1980. As a scientist, he is well-equipped to understand the difference between the type of science that puts satellites into space, for example, and beliefs about the past such as evolution.
While at university, Dr Harwood was something of a “closet Christian” because he assumed that God must have created through evolution (theistic evolution). However, he came to realise that this provided no meaningful basis for Christ’s sacrificial death on the Cross. His subsequent investigation convinced him of the scientific basis of the Genesis account and how this theologically shaped the history of the world.
