With home-based learning and limited physical social interactions for our pre-teens and teens, it seems almost futile adhering to strict screen time limits we had before the Circuit Breaker.

Communicating with our teens regarding appropriate digital content and screen time can be one of the most challenging conversations in our parenting journey, but – if we do it right – one of the most powerful moments in raising our children to be future-ready.

With increased exposure and time spent online in today’s new norms, how do we equip our children and engage them to use tech and media wisely?

Join Focus on the Family Singapore’s Family Life Specialist and Cyber Wellness & Media Literacy Master Trainer, Chong Ee Jay, to get equipped to:

  • Navigate increased online interactions and screen time with effective boundaries and expectations;
  • Understand your unique child to facilitate empowering parent-child conversations about media consumption;
  • Reconnect with your teen by harnessing the potential of technology.

Chong has been championing cyber wellness and media literacy locally and internationally for the past 15 years through education, mentoring and counselling of youths and parents.

He was appointed to the Media Literacy Council (MLC) from 2012 to 2018, and was Master Trainer for the Ministry of Education’s cyber wellness programmes for schools and counsellors as well as for the Social Service Institute’s cyber wellness training of social service practitioners working with youth.

Chong is also the distinguished recipient of the Special Recognition Award 2019 conferred by the Ministry of Communications and Information (MCI) in recognition of his contribution towards cyber wellness and media literacy efforts in Singapore.

He regularly appears in media interviews on both English and Mandarin channels.

His energy and familiarity with youth culture belie the fact that he is a father himself. With the hope to inspire the next generation and the passion to journey with them to achieve their dreams, Chong is currently the deputy head of FamChamps®, a youth development initiative that promotes the holistic message of Family and raises future Family Champions.
