THE GENERATIONS PROJECT

The Generations Project (TGP) book is being launched.

The Generations Project offers churches in Singapore tangible data and an interpretive map of different generations of Christians for navigating congregational life and leadership today.

Along with the book launch is a panel discussion on how each generation sees the church.

This conversation on “Why do different generations interpret church differently?” with our inter-generational panellists is but one step in bridging generational divides in the Singapore Church through empathy and understanding. Will we take Jesus’ command to love one another seriously?

All this came about because for some years now, churches in Singapore have been experiencing an exodus of younger members. Graceworks was invited by churches to help older leaders understand the world of the young. But there was also a realisation that the Christian faith calls for a mutuality in relationships. There was a need to help the young understand those who were older as well.

With that, The Generations Project shifted its trajectory to encompass the other generations present in our churches, with a particular hope that God will use our research to enable more life-giving intergenerational relationships in our churches.

About the organiser:
Graceworks is a ministry that promotes relational transformation in the church and society through training, mentoring and publishing. In training, they quip people to live out relationally healthy lives in the church and in the world. In mentoring, they train mentors and run mentoring groups to help followers of Jesus grow in Christlikeness. In publishing, they bring to life books that promote spiritual friendships and connect the Word of God with the issues of daily life.
