THE STORY OF THE EGG-BREAD

“I AM the Bread of Life”
John 6:35

Come listen to gifted speaker, Christina Wang, as she shares about healing hearts, hurts and traumatised minds. She will also speak about strengthening the human heart and the human spirit and building resilience in the process.

For 16 years, Christina has been honing her skills in established healing services to bring about wholeness and integration to those who have been emotionally wounded through life events, developmental years and even during the gestation period.

She has a BA in English and Social Sciences and a Diploma in Education from the Institute of Education, Singapore, in teaching the English Language and Literature. She also has a Teaching Licentiate from the Royal Schools of Music and a Certificate in Christian Ministry from the Trinity Theological College. She has been involved with HIS Ministry of the Trinity Annual Conference of the Methodist Church in Singapore.

Recognised for her gift in training, curriculum development and leadership, Christina was in the leadership team for seven years. She led the team for another seven years and presently remains as ministry mentor.

For 17 years, Christina’s influence includes the following platforms:

  • Volunteer counsellor in the Singapore Prison Service;
  • Conducting retreats for senior management teams of All Saints Home, St Luke’s Hospital;
  • Conducting workshops for a primary student care centre;
  • Conducting workshops for a secondary school;
  • Conducting workshops in her local church and in other churches;
  • Conducting workshops at youth camps in her local church and in other churches;
  • Conducting a workshop in Ho Chi Minh, Shanghai;
  • Bringing inner healing into South Africa, Mozambique;
  • Private sessions for individuals.

Using her years of experience in healing, Christina birthed PANIS (Latin for Bread) in 2019. She employs her training in linguistics and as a teacher, as well as in creative arts and human development skills, in designing and developing programmes to meet the needs of different client groups.

Recognising Howard Gardners’ Theory of Multiple Intelligence, the PANIS training programme addresses the foundational issues of socio-emotional-cognitive growth and disruptions, through multiple modes of learning (aural, visual, linguistic, kinesthetic, interpersonal and intrapersonal), to enhance clients’ awareness and introduce transformative healing.

Through bread-making, narrative learning and in awakening clients to their mental-emotional health, the PANIS training guides clients in a gentle, non-threatening way to:

  • Release/embrace forgiveness
  • Find worthiness in shame recovery
  • Discover and call out trauma
  • Heal emotions, transform thinking/beliefs, emotions and behaviour
  • Develop resilience and
  • Grow in altruism

Since 2020, Christina has embarked on developing healing curricula for the following groups:

  • Staff of St Luke’s Hospital to address ambiguous grief from Covid-19
  • Missionary organisations
  • Children from a student care centre, many with single parents
  • Secondary school students in focusing on mental-emotional health

She has also worked with troubled and depressed individuals including teenagers and young adults in tracing the root of their woundedness, helping them to process their thought patterns and beliefs, addressing their emotions and behaviour systems, and developing resilience through it.

Married for 30 years and widowed for 10 years, Christina worked through her grief and loss as a widow in developing an inner strength and resilience. She has two sons, a daughter-in-law and is presently a caregiver to her mother.
