Bible reading for 40.DAY 2024 | Revelation 12:11

Currently the percentage of Protestant Christians In Singapore is 11.9%, and the percentage of children in Singapore, aged 0 to 14 years old, is also 11.9%.

This means that if every believer would equip themselves, take up the joy of bringing the Gospel to reach one child intentionally within one year, the whole island of Singapore will be saturated with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

And some of the children will respond to the Lord, because the Gospel of Jesus Christ has the power of salvation.

“For I am not ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” (Romans 1:16)

But yet, for those who have not responded, the Word of God in Isaiah 55:11 says: “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

According to John 16:8, the Holy Spirit will take that Word and convict them: “And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgement.”

When the Gospel is revisited upon them again in the next five to 10 years, when they are 20, 30 years old, they will be saved and the churches of Singapore will harvest them.

A generation that fears, loves and serves the Lord

As we discern the times of God, we know we are living in the last days. And, according to the book of Revelation, there is one more big event that’s coming.

And this big event is called the Second Coming of Jesus.

You know it and I know it – when Jesus comes and when the Final Judgement comes, Satan and his cohorts will be judged. And they will be sent to the lake of fire.

Many people don’t know it, but Satan and his cohorts live in fear, because they know that God is going to raise a generation, according to the book of Revelation.

“They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.” (Revelation 12:11)

This generation will overcome the accuser of the brethren by – number one, the blood of the lamb – which means they do not live by their own talents. It is by the grace of God.

This generation will overcome the accuser of the brethren by the blood of the lamb.

Number two, by the word of their testimony. This generation will be equipped in sharing the Word of God.

And number three, they do not love their life even unto death.

God, in these last days, is not just raising up one man.

Joel 2:28-29 says:

“And afterward,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your old men will dream dreams,
your young men will see visions.
Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days.”

In the last days, God will pour out His Spirit on all flesh – your sons and your daughters will prophesy, young men will see visions, old men will dream dreams. They will be anointed by the Holy Spirit.

“And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in obedience to him, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.” (Deuteronomy 10:12)

That generation that will fear the Lord, love, obey and serve the Lord. That generation that will usher the coming of Jesus, and be bold to share the Gospel of Jesus.

Saturating the soul with the Gospel

Church, we need to get down on our knees to pray till we see that generation rise up.

Pray that parents in church will be in partnership with the Church to raise up their children to fear the Lord.

And there are two groups of children here: One is in the church, one is in the community.

The devil is afraid of this generation. He’s afraid, so he deviates them out of the call of God. We must intercede for them.

We need to not only raise the children in the church in the fear of the Lord, but to pray that the hearts of the children in the community will also be open.

So during these 40 days of fasting, let’s pray. Let’s intercede that the blinded minds of the unbelieving will be torn down. Because the devil is afraid of this generation. He’s afraid, so he deviates them out of the call of God.

We must reach them. We must intercede for them.

Let us sow the seed. Let us saturate the soul with the Gospel of Jesus

Shall we pray together?

Thank you, Lord. Praise you, Father. Lord, we bring our hearts before You today. Thank You for the opportunity to be part of raising an emerging generation.

We humble our hearts as we ask that Your Spirit will anoint us as never before in these last days. Lord, we ask that the parents in the Church will hearken the call of God to raise up their children in the fear of the Lord.

We pray that the Church will take raising the next generation seriously, and take up the responsibility of reaching at least one child in one year.

In Jesus’ name, we bind the prince of this world that has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, even of the children. In the name of Jesus Christ, we bind every spirit of unbelief. We loose our horses and chariots. We loose our ministering angels, Father, to render salvation for the children.

Lord, open up their hearts. We ask and believe that not only a whole group of them will come to Christ but there will be a tremendous revival.

We thank You and we praise You, and ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Reflect

1. How has the Lord been faithful to you since your own youth?

2. Why is God’s heart so passionate for the next generation to know Him?

3. What is one thing God is leading you to begin doing to proclaim Him to the next generation?

Pray

1. Ask the Lord to ignite a deep passion within you for the salvation of young people. Pray that you are filled with a godly purpose to proclaim His wondrous deeds and power to the next generation, in the same way the Psalmist did. Pray for a greater manifestation of this passion in your life and in the lives of others.

2. Pray for the hearts of the youth today to be receptive to the Word of God. Ask God to stir in them a deep hunger for spiritual truth, to seek and find Him amidst the distractions of the world. Pray that they may encounter God in personal and transformative ways. Pray that, through God’s love, they become the future bearers of His Word.

3. Pray that God helps mothers and fathers parent their children biblically and relate to them lovingly. Intercede for parents to communicate Christ’s love in a way that resonates with the youth, ensuring that His message transcends generational boundaries.
