Bible reading for Day 14 |Matthew 13:44-46
“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.”
What would you do if you found hidden treasure? Would you hide it so you can enjoy it once in a while? Or would you tell the whole world you found treasure and risk having your treasure stolen?
The good news is that God’s Kingdom is a treasure that can never be stolen. Instead, the more you share it, the more it grows! Did you know you have the Kingdom of God in you if you have Jesus in you? Would you share that treasure so that other people can enjoy it too? You can share it by being kind to a stranger, by speaking well of your friends, by loving your family, by sharing the story of Jesus and why you believe in Him.
Go ahead! Share your treasure!
Discuss
1. Think of the things in your life that are precious to you. They are your treasure. Do you have the treasure of Jesus in your life? What does that look like?
2. How can you share this treasure of Jesus with the people in your life?
Pray
1. Ask God to help you recognise the greatest treasure in your life, Jesus.
2. Pray that He will teach you how to share this treasure, and give you a big heart to share it.
