Bible reading for Day 18 |1 Timothy 4:12-16
12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you.15 Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 16Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers.
Like Jesus, the Church loves the young people of Singapore! Here are the ABC’s of our love for you.
A – We accept you
Like everyone, you may struggle with doing the right thing all the time. That is normal. You are a work in progress! We accept your faults, flaws and failures. Even what you wear! You are part of God’s family, the Church.
B – We believe in you
We believe that among you today are the young Davids, the young Esthers and the young Marys of the Bible who have yet to fulfil God’s calling for your life. One day you will rise up to be leaders of your church and of your generation. You will become a champion for Jesus Christ!
C – We want to challenge you
Live for bigger things, live for what matters! Give your best. Go all out, be all in! Pray that you and your classmates and friends know Jesus Christ. Be humble and teachable, and see how God will use you to change the world!
Discuss
1. The Bible tells us about God’s love and shows us how God wants us to live. Are you prepared to give an answer to someone who asks you about your faith?
2. Which area in your life is God challenging you to live bigger and braver for Him?
Pray
1. Pray that God will start a fire in your heart for Him, so that you will be ready to fulfil the plans He has for your life.
2. Pray that God will use you and your generation of believers to help young people in Singapore come to know Him. Pray also that the Holy Spirit will work powerfully across churches and schools, turning hearts to Jesus!
