Bible reading for Day 35 | Romans 14:11-12, 17-18
“It is written: ‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’ So then, each of us will give an account of ourselves to God.”

One day, Jesus will come back to earth.
Every person, in every country, speaking in every language will bow down before Him as Lord and King.
As we wait for that day, we can bless many people and bring them to God, so that it will be one huge gathering on that joyful day.
It sounds like a big job to bring all these people together and it is! How do we start?
The Bible verse today tells us: “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
In Singapore we often think about what we are going to eat or drink. It is not wrong to think about those things but they should not be the most important thing to us.
The most important should be on the Holy Spirit, which gives us:
- Righteousness, to help us do what is right in God’s eyes
- Peace and joy
- Power to live the way God has planned
With the Holy Spirit, here is how you can make blessing people a part of your life:
1. Think about how you spend your time. What do you spend most of your time doing or thinking about?
2. Ask God to fill you more and more with the Holy Spirit.
3. Encourage one another. Let’s look at the needs of those in church, in our schools, neighbourhoods and even around the world. Let’s think about how to encourage and help them.
Blessing people in all countries starts with looking to God. Let’s look at His Word, hear His promises and love Him with all our heart.
Discuss
1. What is God telling you about how you spend your time? Does what you do in your free time help you to know and love Jesus better?
2. Which person or country or language interests you? How might you help them or pray for them?
Pray
1. Pray that the Holy Spirit will show you how to spend your time in a way that is healthy and helps you know Jesus better.
2. Ask God to show you how He wants you to bless people in other countries. Is to pray for them, help them with money for food and clothes, or go with your church to that country to help them?
3. Pray that God will show you the needs around you – is there a cleaner who needs a new pair of slippers? Are there construction workers who need a cold drink on a hot day? Can you encourage your postman by thanking him for delivering your mail? Ask God to help you share His love to them.
