Bible reading for Day 6 | Jeremiah 29:7
“Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
To turn Singapore to God, there are three things we can learn from this letter from Jeremiah.
God wants Singapore to have shalom
The word shalom means peace and completeness. It means there is nothing missing. God wants shalom not just for us, for our family and for our church. He wants shalom for all people in Singapore.
He wants us to have peace, salvation, joy, health, prosperity and His blessings. When we obey God, our lives become a source of shalom that spreads throughout Singapore.
Pray to God for shalom
God knows the best way to bring shalom to Singapore. Pray and ask Him how we can work together to bring the shalom of God to Singapore. Ask Him to give us power by the Holy Spirit to bring that shalom to our country.
Discuss
1. Why does God want Singapore to have His shalom?
2. How can you bring God’s shalom to the places you live and the people you meet?
Pray
1. Pray that God will show you what shalom means for you, your family, your friends and your schoolmates.
2. Pray that He will give you ideas on how to bring shalom to Singapore. Start with one person.
