Bible reading for Day 8 | Luke 19:26
26 “He replied, ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what they have will be taken away.”
In Luke 19, an important man went away to make himself king. Before he left, he gave one of his workers 10 coins (talents), another worker five coins, and another worker one coin. Although they did not know if the man would really become king, the workers with the 10 and five coins did business and made more money for him. But the worker with the one coin was afraid to do so, and hid the coin in the ground instead.
Jesus rose from death and returned to Heaven. But He is coming back as King to rule over the earth. Will you believe this even though you have not yet seen it? Will you be brave and tell people about the King so that there will be many followers when He returns? Or will you be afraid like the worker with the one coin and keep silent?
Discuss
1. What did the important man say to the workers who made more money for him? What do you want Jesus to tell you when He returns to rule as King?
2. How does this change the way you live as you wait for the return of Jesus Christ?
Pray
1. Pray for courage to tell people about Jesus Christ the coming King, even though He has not yet returned.
2. Pray that God will show you what to say when you tell your friends about Jesus.
