6 ways kids can hear the Easter story this weekend

This Easter, tell children about the greatest Love story and the biggest sacrifice the world has ever known. Photo courtesy of Harvest Kids.
The battle of good versus evil. The drama of a wrongful arrest, unjust trial and death of a hero. Then a plot twist at the end.
The Easter story has all these elements and more. Beyond the spectacle is the truly spectacular – the truth of a Saviour who gave His life to right our wrongs, so that redemption is ours through simple faith in Him.
This weekend, here are 6 ways children can encounter this story of the greatest Love and the biggest sacrifice the world has ever known.
Easter Party: Harvest Kidz (City Harvest Church)
Harvest Kidz, the children’s ministry of City Harvest Church, is throwing an Easter party and every child is invited.
Children will learn what Easter is about through games, prizes and songs, and experience the length, breadth, depth and height of God’s love for us.
Those who come to Superhero Eggventure dressed in a superhero costume stand a chance to win an egg-stra grand prize. There will be an egg-citing magic show and a special Easter gift as well.

Family Story-reading Video: The Treasure Box SG

If you are thinking of hosting an Easter party for children or hoping to share the Gospel with them, The Treasure Box SG has released a special story-reading video for families to watch together.
Follow along as Elvin and Esther Foong read from their beloved storybook Why is Good Friday Good, featuring the illustrations of their children Nathan and Phoebe Foong.

At the end of the video, there is a prayer for the viewers to invite Jesus into their lives.
The video will take you through a clear and concise explanation of why God sent Jesus to die for our sins and what that accomplishes for humanity. Interactive reflections and thoughtful discussions have been interspersed throughout to encourage participation. At the end, there will also be an invitation for those who are watching to invite Jesus into their lives by praying a simple and sincere prayer.

Reflections within the video to promote discussion and talk.
The question “Why is Good Friday Good” is a helpful starting point for getting pre-believers to think about the significance of this holiday and what it could mean for them. As the video will be available on YouTube Kids, children can even share this video with their classmates and friends.
Through the video, the Gospel is taken out of the church into homes where family discipleship and faith take place. Churches, children’s ministries and cell groups can also organise watch parties where pre-believing family and friends may be invited to a friendly, non-threatening environment to watch the video together over a meal or a drink.
How: The full video will be available on The Treasure Box Singapore’s YouTube channel from April 16, 2025.
