Want to show appreciation for the Dad who has been a spiritual stalwart of the household? Bless him with gifts from The Commandment Co, The Super Blessed or Blessed Be.
1 John 4:19 – We love because he first loved us.
The Commandment Co, which “seeks to create personalised gifts that encompasses God’s truth and love”, is having a sale on some gifts for fathers.
This includes ballpoint pens, leather coin pouches and keychains – all of which allow for customised engravings.
It’s a great opportunity to personalise the gift with Dad’s name or a meaningful Bible verse.
The Super Blessed has a range of “Verse-It” velcro patches in various designs to bless your father with God’s Word.
Check out Blessed Be’s Instagram account for “thoughtfully designed and prayerfully crafted scriptural decor and handicrafts that portray God’s love”.
With Covid fatigue hitting households, these biblical encouragements could be just what your father needs.
2. For foodie dads
With Phase 3 (Heightened Alert) still in effect and dine-ins prohibited, F&B outlets could use the support. This is a chance to bless both the giver and the receiver.
Order in from your favourite eatery and share a good meal together. If you would like to support Christian-owned F&B businesses in Singapore (John 13:34-35), check out the directory 5 Loaves & 2 Fishes.
For that special occasion meal, hire a private chef to whip up a customised feast for the family.
3. Handwritten appreciation
Encourage even young children to honour dads and grandads with simple, but heartfelt, appreciation.
Dads for Life, Singapore’s national father’s movement is giving away 2,000 Celebrating Fathers Family Packs.
As shown on their Facebook page, the packs contain “exclusive items in a custom-designed tote bag, as well as entry materials and instructions for the Get Creative with Dad contest”.
It is part of their “Celebrating Fathers” campaign which began in 2016 aimed at “involving fathers to become good influences in their children’s lives – for life”.
Or you can download and print the “This Is My Dad” activity sheet by The Treasure Box for young ones to make a keepsake for Dad.
It is a good way for children to tell their father when he made them feel most loved and how dear he is to them.
You can also find ready-made cards at DaySpring, which offers a wide range of Father’s Day cards.
Choose from a variety of cards thanking Dad, Grandad or a special father in your family’s life.
Big or small, a gesture of blessing and appreciation to fathers is a treasure for life.
