Canon Titus succeeds the Rt Rev Rennis Ponniah.
The Diocese of Singapore today (February 5) announced the appointment of Canon Dr Titus Chung, 55, as the 10th Bishop of Singapore (The Anglican Church).
He will succeed the Rt Rev Rennis Ponniah.
Canon Titus, who was ordained in the Diocese in 1997, is currently the Priest-in-charge of St Andrew’s Cathedral’s Mandarin congregation, the Convenor of Continuing Ministerial Education for Clergy & Deaconesses in the diocese, and a member of the Senior Clergy.
He is married to Connie, with whom he has two sons in their twenties, Theodore and Thaddeus.
“We ask for your prayers for him and his family as they prepare for this new appointment and the taking over of a new role with new responsibilities,” said Rev Rennis, who asked believers to “pray fervently with these Scriptures in mind: Numbers 27:16, Jeremiah 3:15 and 2 Timothy 4:1-2”.
Canon Titus will be consecrated and installed on Sunday, October 18, at St Andrew’s Cathedral.
