Bible reading for Day 17 | Acts 2:44
“All the believers were together and had everything in common.”
Learn
Did you know that God Himself was never alone? From the beginning, He was God the Father, the Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
God does not want us to be alone either. He wants us to be part of a community. What is a community? It is a group of people who care for one another.
It is in a community that we learn to:
- Love one another
- Forgive one another
- Encourage one another
- Do good deeds together
Your friends can read the best Christian books and listen to the best Christian music alone, but they can experience Jesus’ love best through a loving group of God’s people.
So, together with our friends, neighbours and schoolmates, let us be prayerful, joyful and supportive of one another as we worship Jesus.
Discuss
- How can you be more encouraging and helpful to your friends?
- Is there a way your group of friends can show appreciation and care to others? For example, can you pray together for a sick classmate? Write a thank-you note to your teacher? Join an adult group that cleans the beaches or delivers food to the elderly?
Pray
- Ask God to provide you with a group of people who will help you to grow in your faith and help others in the community.
- Pray that God will help you not be self-centred but to be thoughtful to others, whether it is your family or to strangers in need.
