DAWN THE MUSICAL – A JOURNEY OF LOVE AND HOPE

Dawn (曙光音乐剧) is a musical that tells the story of finding love and hope through a talented cast, choir, and songs and dance, with music by The Christian Orchestra.

Follow Luke, a wealthy art and antique collector whose life of opulence is destroyed when a fire consumes his mansion and treasured collections. The tragedy leaves Luke emotionally devastated and alone, as his wife abandons him due to the loss of his wealth.

Once powerful and admired, he becomes a figure to be pitied. At his lowest point, contemplating suicide by the seaside, Luke has a moment of vulnerability and seeks forgiveness and guidance from a higher power.

This leads to a spiritual awakening where he realises true wealth lies in human connections and compassion. The musical showcases the power of compassion and grace, illustrating that redemption and renewal are possible even after great loss.

This evangelistic musical production is the brainchild of Canon Barry Leong, the Vicar of Church of the True Light and St John’s Chapel, who had a vision for smaller churches to work together and leverage their unity for the Gospel. More than 10 churches in the Anglican Diocese of Singapore Board of Chinese Work are involved in this musical, including the combined choir and orchestra.
