ELECTRIC GUITAR FOR WORSHIP

Want to play the electric guitar confidently in a worship band? 

What is this about

This course equips guitar players with the necessary theory, skills and knowledge to effectively serve in contemporary and modern worship settings. It also provides the resources and roadmap to continually improve, be confident, and adapt one’s playing to various musical situations.

What you will learn

  • The CAGED system for better fretboard navigation
  • The Nashville numbering system and slash chords
  • Your role as an electric guitarist in a worship team
  • Basic soloing techniques, effects and amp simulations

Who can attend

For guitarists with at least one year of playing experience. While all guitarists are welcome, the focus will be on the electric guitar.

About the instructor

With years of experience serving in church worship teams and playing for renowned artists like Bob Fitts, Penny Tai, and Jack & Rai, Eugene Wong brings a wealth of knowledge in both worship and contemporary music. His background in live performance recording and ministry makes him the ideal guide to help you navigate the role of an electric guitarist in worship.

Dates: July 19 & 26 or September 6 & 13, 2025  

Time: 2pm-5pm

Venue: Methodist School of Music

Cost: S$300 including GST
*Each class requires a minimum of 10 participants to start and has a maximum capacity of 20.

About the organiser
The Methodist School of Music is a member of the Methodist Schools network. MSM was founded in 1997 as an agency of the Methodist Church in Singapore and is registered with the Ministry of Education.
