Bible reading for Day 10 | Genesis 22:15-17
15 The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16 and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17 I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies
God does not want anyone to be destroyed, but He wants the entire nation of Singapore to be saved and brought into His family.
Does it sound like a big task? Yes it does. Is God able? Yes He is! We know this because of:
His incredible power
Nothing is too hard for the Lord. His power is so great that He can make blind people see, crippled people walk, and even dead people come alive! He can heal those who are sad and broken-hearted, and save those who have sinned. He is able to speak to them so clearly that they believe in Him.
Our incredible faith
When we know God’s amazing power, we will have incredible faith, like Abraham. We will have faith to believe Him and to obey Him, even if it looks impossible.
When we obey, God hears and answers our prayers and He blesses Singapore.
His incredible love
The love of God is so great, it is impossible to truly understand. So great is His love for us, for Singapore, that He sacrificed His one and only Son to die for our sins.
The whole Bible is about people leaving God and God looking for us and bringing us back to His home and His family. Let us pray and share the Gospel so that the people of Singapore will come home to God.
Discuss
1. How have you seen God’s incredible power around you and in your own life?
2. How does knowing God’s power help you to share the Gospel with your family, friends and schoolmates?
Pray
1. Pray that God Himself will show you how incredible His power and His love is. Pray that this will help you to build an incredible faith.
2. Pray for the Holy Spirit to help you understand people’s hearts and to love them so that the people of Singapore will come home to God and His family.
