DAY 12 - KIDS DEVO (ARTICLE)

Read

Bible reading for Day 12 | Mark 5:1-8

1They went across the lake to the region of the Gerasenes. 2 When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an impure spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones.
6 When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran and fell on his knees in front of him. 7 He shouted at the top of his voice, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? In God’s name don’t torture me!” 8 For Jesus had said to him, “Come out of this man, you impure spirit!”

While Singapore is blessed with peace, success and safety, there are people among us who are crushed by evil spirits such as rejection, addiction and fear.

As Christians, we have the power to set people free! How? We have Jesus Christ in us, and He is greater than the spirits in this world. Did you notice? Even the demons living in the man were afraid of Jesus. When the man was set free, he went to 10 cities to tell people about Jesus.

So, let us remember those who live under the control of bad spirits. Let us share the Gospel with them, speak words of truth and life from the Bible, and pray for them. God will hear us, and He will send His Holy Spirit to set the people free!

Discuss

1. Has God shown you areas and people who may be under the control of bad spirits? What does that look like?

2. Do you feel you are too young to help set free those who are crushed by evil spirits? Why or why not?

Pray

1. Pray that the Almighty God will show you the power that is in you because of Jesus Christ.

2. Ask God to teach you how to use that power of the Holy Spirit to set people free.
