Only a Singaporean would know what an “uWWUUU bird” is, or how its signature call is a source of annoyance to some. So, when the creators behind Instagram’s @thatsinglishbible took the creative liberty of featuring the Asian koel in their unofficial translation of Matthew 6:26, the post went viral.
They are just one instance of many now taking the Great Commission to the ends of the earth through Singlish, Japanese manga, dialect and even TikTok.
