"In the midst of the shaking of nations, they will come to the Desire of all nations," prays Goh Kng Yan, an elder at Zion Living Streams Community Church. Photo Macau Photo Agency on Unsplash.

Even at such a joyous occasion as the dedication of Solomon’s temple in 2 Chronicles 6:28-30, Solomon raised up matters of pestilence and sicknesses to the Lord, noted Elder Goh Kng Yan of Zion Living Streams Community Church.

Solomon, by the wisdom of God, foresaw such eventualities, interceded for his people, and God heard (2 Chronicles 7:13-14), said Elder Goh.

She added: “As His people, we need to humble ourselves. Pray. Seek His face. Turn from wicked ways. The Lord will hear. Forgive. Heal.”

Salt&Light gathered the prayers of church leaders for each day of this week, so that we can pause and pray, trusting the faithful promise which God gave to Solomon, and now to us.

Day 8: Come and heal our land

Merciful Lord, we as Your people come humbly before You and confess our sins and the sins of the people in our nation.

O my God, incline Your ear, and hear; open Your eyes, and behold our distress.

We do not present our supplications before You for our righteousnesses, but for Thy great mercies.

O Lord, hear;
O Lord, forgive;
O Lord, hearken and do;
Come and heal our land.

Be with our leaders in this time of distress that they may draw divine wisdom and guidance from You.

Be with all our healthcare and frontline workers. Form a shield of protection around each of our unsung heroes. May they find rest and peace in You.

Help Your people to feel, with compassion, those who are suffering in this time.

Our hearts go to the families who lost their loved ones in their battle against the coronavirus. Your comfort and peace be with them.

We also pray for all who are afflicted with the coronavirus. May they call on Your Name. May Your hand of healing be upon them and they be quick to acknowledge You with thanksgiving and testimonies that others will acknowledge You.

Help Your people to feel – with compassion – those who are suffering in this time of trying circumstances that we may reach out to them.

As we pray for our nation Singapore, we likewise join our hearts and spirits, standing in the gap with Your people in Iran, Italy, Spain, the EU, Korea, Japan, US, Malaysia, Indonesia and the nations, that each nation will experience Your promise in Your Word.

In the midst of the shaking of nations, may they come to the Desire of all nations.

Thank You for hearing our prayers, merciful and gracious Lord Jesus. You will perform Your word as spoken to Solomon.
