“Time to catch God’s heart”: Day of His Power 2024 takes place in 9 days across 9 churches in Singapore

Two new centres – Grace Assembly of God and Kum Yan Methodist Church – join Day of His Power this year, bringing the total number of prayer hubs to nine.
“It is time. Time to wake up from our spiritual slumber. Time to emerge from the business-as-usual Christianity.
“Time to catch God’s heart and understand the times we are living in.”
Pastor Jeff Chong, Chairman of LoveSingapore, exhorted pastors and leaders in Singapore to mobilise their churches to unite in prayer at Day of His Power (DOHP), an annual nationwide gathering for worship and prayer.
“The time is now to pray,” Ps Jeff urged.
This year, two new churches – Grace Assembly of God and Kum Yan Methodist Church – join the list of churches hosting DOHP, bringing the number of regional prayer centres across Singapore to nine.
“We will pray and work to reverse the downward trend of Christianity in Singapore and see the percentage go beyond 20%.”
English DOHP will take place on Thursday, 8 August, at these nine regional centres.
Chinese DOHP will take place on Friday, 9 August, at Church of Our Saviour.
DOHP, which takes place near Singapore’s National Day, is the culmination of the The 40.Day Season of Prayer that kicked off on 1 July.
This event has grown from strength to strength. Last year, almost 7,000 believers came together at DOHP 2023 across seven churches to seek God, up from 5,000 in 2022.
Attendance at the Chinese DOHP doubled last year to 1,000 amidst the growing harvest field of the Mandarin-speaking congregation in Singapore.
DOHP 2024 will focus on the three strategic thrusts outlined by LoveSingapore last year: “Turning Singapore Godward”, “Winning the Youth”, and “Blessing the Nations”.
The percentage of Christians in Singapore is cresting: It was 18.3% of the population in 2010 and 18.9% in 2020.
Ps Jeff pointed out: “If we maintain the status quo, we will likely witness a decline by 2030.
“We will pray and work to reverse this downward trend and see the number go beyond 20%.”
This would mean at least 15,000 new believers every year from 2024 to 2030.
“Let’s play our part in the redemptive plan of God for Singapore,” Ps Jeff urged.
