In an advisory to its members last night, Paya Lebar Methodist Church (PLMC) announced that their pre-school, Covenant Kindergarten, will reopen today (February 12) after deep cleaning and disinfection by professional cleaners.
All students and teachers will have their temperature checked and levels of hygiene will be enhanced, said the letter.
The church urged its members to continue praying for those who are infected, those who are still quarantined, and for “peace to be with their loved ones. This is what it means to grow deeper in the community outside PLMC”.
Giving thanks for the seven who have fully recovered from the coronavirus, the church held up the comfort of Philippians 4:6-7:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
The Ministry of Health had announced on February 9 that a 71-year-old grandfather who had visited PLMC was Case 41 among the confirmed coronavirus cases in Singapore.
All those who had been in close contact with the patient are being quarantined.
